A/Prof Esther Seunghee Oh is the Ministry of Health’s HMDP Visiting Expert in Geriatric Care: Delirium and Dementia Across Care Settings. Her HMDP Programme is scheduled for 13 January to 17 January 2025.
About the visit/HDMP expert
A/Prof Esther Oh is the Sarah Miller Coulson Human Aging Project Scholar and an Associate Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology (Department of Medicine) at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also holds appointments in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Neuropathology and at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She is the co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Memory and Alzheimer’s Treatment Center, co-Director of the Johns Hopkins University Artificial Intelligence & Technology Collaboratory for Aging Research, Pilot Core A (AD/ADRD).
Her overarching clinical and research interests are in the field of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and its interrelationship with delirium. A/Prof Oh will bring her expertise in delirium prevention, identification and treatment in hospitalized older adults to address the challenge statement. She will share her invaluable knowledge and experience in the use of machine learning algorithms to improve delirium risk detection and provide clinicians with delirium interventions for vulnerable patients.
