Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent (OBE) is a trailblazer in midwifery, having taken on the role of the first Chief Midwife for the International Confederation of Midwives in May 2023.
With an extensive and dynamic career in maternity care, education, policy, and healthcare management, she is revolutionizing maternity services worldwide. Celebrated for her impact on both national and global healthcare policies, this courageous leader is fiercely committed to achieving equitable outcomes for all mothers and elevating the status of midwives.
As the former UK’s inaugural Chief Midwifery Officer and a three-time Health Service Journal Influential Leader, she adeptly tackles complex challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, and is poised to extend her transformative expertise on a global scale.
