Visiting Expert in Radiology AI

Prof Curtis Langlotz is the Ministry of Health’s HMDP Visiting Expert in Radiology AI. His HMDP Programme is scheduled for 25 March 2024 to 30 March 2024.

About the visit/HDMP expert

Sengkang General Hospital Radiology department is honored to host Prof Curtis Langlotz as our invited overseas expert. Prof Curtis Langlotz is the Chairman for Radiological Society of North America. He is renowned and respected for both Chest Radiology and Medical and Imaging Informatics and AI/ML. His background in Radiology and Sub-specialty Radiology as well as in Computer Science, AI and ML puts Prof Langlotz at the leading edge of this fast-developing field of Medical and Radiology AI and ML. He is an excellent communicator and teacher, able to share and educate across all levels of understanding.

Prof Langlotz has experience of early adoption of AI research and deployment, from his pre-medical Masters and PhD and throughout his Radiology career at University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. He has experience in setting up AI/ML research centers at University of Pennsylvania and later at Stanford University. The Stanford University School of Medicine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Intelligence (C-AIMI) and the more recently established Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HCAI) are both well regarded and foremost centers of AI/ML research and development in USA and internationally.

His knowledge and expertise in Medical and Radiology AI is a valuable resource. It can enable Singapore Radiology to enhance its capabilities, covering areas such as Radiology Informatics and AI/ML research and adoption, optimal waiting time management, scan image optimization and AL/ML augmented reporting of Radiological Studies.
