Dr Michael David Dixon is the Ministry's HMDP Visiting Expert in Integrating Health and Social Care. His HMDP Programme is scheduled for 11 Apr 2023 - 15 Apr 2023.
About the visit/HMDP expert
Dr Michael Dixon is an NHS GP at the Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health in
Cullompton, Devon. He is Chair of the College of Medicine and Co-Chair of the
National Social Prescribing Network. He was previously a leader in the GP
Commissioning movement as Chair of NHS Alliance (1998-2016) and President of
NHS Clinical Commissioners (2012-2014), which aimed to give GPs and their patients
a greater say in the services available to them.
Michael is Visiting Professor at University College, London and at Westminster
University and Head of the Royal Medical Household. His recent book “A Time to Heal
– Tales of a Country Doctor” describes his views on general practice - past and
present.
