Visiting Expert in Critical care
Daniel Rowley is the Ministry of Health’s HMDP Visiting Expert in Critical Care. His HMDP Programme is scheduled for 11 March 2024 to 15 March 2024.
About the visit/HDMP expert
Mr Daniel Rowley, clinical coordinator for Pulmonary Diagnostics and Respiratory Therapy Services at the University of Virginia Health System. He is also currently an adjunct faculty for the University’s School of Nursing, as well as Central Virginia Community College and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
In his illustrious career, he has been very involved in the American Association for Respiratory Care, serving in numerous capacities and is currently the elected President for the International Council for Respiratory Care. He is also currently serving on the editorial board and peer reviewer for scientific journals such as Respiratory Care, Annals of Translational Medicine, Journal of Thoracic Medicine, etc.
His passion to promote evidence-based practice for respiratory care has led him to delve deeply in research and scholarly work, with publications focusing on pulmonary mechanics, lung expansion and bronchial hygiene therapies, and lung-protective mechanical ventilation strategies, to be a few.
Renowned as a prolific speaker internationally, he has been invited globally to give lectures and speak at conferences, all for the advocacy and promotion of respiratory care beyond the United States. In recognition of his tremendous efforts to promote the globalization of quality respiratory care, Mr Rowley is the proud and deserving recipient of the Toshihiko Kota, MD International Medal awarded by the ICRC for 2023.
