Prof Zeng Guo Hua is the Ministry of Health’s HMDP Visiting Expert in Advanced Surgical Treatment to Large Kidney Stone. His HMDP Programme is scheduled for 6 to 10 November 2023.
About the visit/HMDP expert
Prof Zeng Guohua is the Vice Chief of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. He is also the Head of Urology Department. He is one of the leading expert in the field of urology with over 30 years of clinical experience. He is widely regarded as the best kidney stone surgeon in China. Internationally he is well recognized for his groundbreaking research and state-of-the-art innovation in minimally invasive treatments for kidney stones.
Prof Zeng holds numerous leadership positions in professional bodies, including Chairman and Secretary General of the International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU), Vice President of the Chinese Urological Association (CUA), and Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Medical Association's Urology Branch. Over the last 20 years, he has trained 697 international urology specialists from nearly 40 countries. He co-founded the International Alliance of Urolithiasis, which is now one of the most influential academic organizations in the field of urinary stone disease worldwide.
Prof. Zeng's innovative work has led to the development of the super-mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (SMP) technique, which has been widely applied both domestically and internationally. This technique reduces surgical bleeding and postoperative recovery time while delivering optimal surgical outcomes. He has demonstrated his technique at 30 international conferences in 18 countries, including Germany and France. Prof. Zeng has published 152 peer reviewed papers in English. His work has highly impacted international guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of urinary stones. In addition to clinical work, he holds 15 device patents in China, the United States, and Europe.
Prof. Zeng has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions, including the first prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award , the second prize of the Education Science and Technology Award and Diamond Award of the Chinese Medical Association
